WHY TALK ABOUT EMOTIONAL WELLNESS ?
Emotion is a mental state connected with our nervous system which is a result of chemical changes variously associated with thoughts, feelings, behavioral responses, and a degree of pleasure or displeasure.
We all are blessed with an ability to express emotions through our expressions and actions. When the emotional state is happy, it is expressed through the smile, giggle, laughter, clap and what not. If the emotional state is sad, it is expressed by crying. Anger would be expressed by yell, slap, etc.
This is a normal process because the mind and body are complementing parts and both get affected by others.
Now if we talk about the most desired emotion, we know it would be “Being Happy”. There are four primary chemicals in the brain that affect happiness: Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, and Endorphins. By designing pleasure experiences that activate these chemicals, you can increase your happiness.
So by being an Emotional Wellness coach Dr. Anju Chawla would guide you to the path of being happy, at peace, blissful, contented or call it as “Emotionally well”
Her emotional wellness programs will help you recognize and accept your feelings, both positive and negative and would allow you to adapt to stress, life changes, and difficult times and position you into a “happy state” or “emotionally well state”.
HOW IMPORTANT IS TO SHARPEN MY EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Emotional intelligence is the ability to keep a check on one’s own and other people’s emotions, to understand, distinguish and categorize different emotions appropriately, and then use that information to guide thinking and behaviors.
Behavior is what we manifest through our verbal and nonverbal communication and the moment our behavior is not generating a complementary transaction in the transactions of strokes with others, the probability of conflict seeps in. To reduce such a situation, our behavior has to be sound and for that, we need to know how and what to behave and that is where Emotional intelligence comes into the picture.
Thus, Emotional intelligence is a power to know our emotions to the stimulus, an art to manage it and align it with other’s emotions to reach our desired outcomes.
To make it simpler, answer these questions:
- Do you want to be behaviorally more sound and effective in whatever interpersonal relations you carry out?
- Do you want to build a capability to manage your emotions and use them to facilitate your thinking and to understand the emotions of others too?
- Do you want to manage your stress at your work place and to create a positive and productive environment around you?
- Do you want to communicate better, to develop people, to build a strong team and to give best results?
If yes, then you need to build this competency of Emotional Intelligence.
You know, as per the study, a person with high EQ in comparison to a person with high IQ is connected to a better job performance, is a better team player, and has an increased creativity. They are often seen as people with high retention at work and are capable of accepting the change. Beyond the workplace, people with high Emotional intelligence enjoy better interpersonal relationships at home as well.

I had a fruitful 3 month association with Dr. Anju Chawla. Of all of her qualities, her patient listening ability and simplistic demeanor helped me speak on all my thoughts, some of which were tangential in nature. She helped me ease into conversations paving path for beneficial next-steps. I really understood more the real core meaning of my satisfaction both professional and on a social note. We were not conversing to solve a problem but more to unearth solutions to various aspects of life which impact a human being. She also helped me analyse various things through which I can help the organization better if done differently, thank you and all the best for the future.
